Once a “son” has been fully oriented and established, and just prior to his sonship education getting underway in earnest, God our Father provides us with this major ‘checkpoint’ in order to ‘verify our credentials’ for moving on in our sonship education.  Here we make the next move, so to speak, by intelligently and genuinely presenting ourselves to our Father – and verifying to Him that all of the information contained in Romans 6:1 through 11:36 has done its effectual job in our “inner man” and that from this time forward our lives will bear the marks of ‘not being conformed to this world’ and of being ‘transformed by the renewing of our minds.’  Next to believing in Christ as our only and all-sufficient Savior, this is the most important decision you will ever make!  It is one of the most poignant and significant moments of your entire Christian life!
