I’m saved… but now what?  I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins - He fully paid the debt and penalty of my sins, was buried, and arose from the dead.  I am now justified unto eternal life by grace through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ as my only and all-sufficient Savior.  Without a shadow of a doubt, I know for sure that when I die I will go to heaven and live with God forever!  Wonderful!  Great!  Fantastic!… 
but now what do I do?

I know I’m supposed to grow spiritually, because God’s word tells me that God’s desire for me is to be “perfected” and “edified,” or built up spiritually, much like the constructing of a building structure or edifice.  For example, Ephesians 4:11-12 tells me that “… the perfecting of the saints,” as well as “… the edifying of the body of Christ” is supposed to take place.  And I Timothy 1:4 tells me, “Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.”  

I’m a Christian, but what am I supposed to do with my Christian life?  How is it that “godly edifying which is in faith” is supposed to get accomplished?  How do I come to think the way God thinks, live the way God lives, and labor with God in all His business?

What is God’s will for my life?  How can I know that every decision and choice I make in life is the exact decision and choice that God Himself would make?  Am I supposed to rely on men to tell me?  If I buy the latest books from the popular Christian writers, will they tell me?  Is it left to pastors and Bible teachers to tell me what my purpose in life is about?… Or just maybe, has God my Heavenly Father already written down a curriculum for educating me and edifying me in the Bible itself?

Well, in answer to these oftentimes perplexing and frustrating questions, God our Heavenly Father has made provision for every one of them to be answered – and not by men and man’s methodology, but by God Himself.  For God has done something wonderful for us in the redemption we received when we believed in Christ as our Savior.

God has adopted us as “sons.”  He is going to be a Father to us, and we are to be sons to Him.  He is going to therefore educate us and edify us by means of His written sonship curriculum that already exists on the pages of His word.  

Sonship edification recognizes that the letters of the apostle Paul (Romans through Philemon) are precisely placed in the very order in which you find them in your Bible because they follow a pattern or curriculum designed by God to educate you and edify you properly and fully as His “sons!”

Being educated as sons of our Heavenly Father is precisely how “godly edifying” is supposed to take place.  No Bible scholar or pastor or teacher ever has to try to figure out how it’s to be done because God has already done that.  Our Father has determined what is to be learned and in what order it is to be learned.  And when we, as the adopted, adult sons that we are, have been properly educated and edified by the curriculum for sonship edification, we will think like God, live like God, and labor with God our Father in all His business, and be pleasing unto Him in every way.  By means of His curriculum for sonship edification we will acquire the decision-making skills to not only make wise choices, but to make the most excellent choices of all – even as our Father would make Himself!
